The school subscribes to a number of online learning resources which can be accessed at home. It is essential that children and parents have access to the relevant login details. The login details will be sent home inside the ‘remote learning pack’.

Login details that should be included are:

• Google Classroom (this will onbly be used in the event of whole class/school closure

• Maths Whizz 

• Bug Club (reading)

Google Classroom

​

Every child  will be provided with a Google Classroom login. Activities will be posted to Google Classroom as well as daily live lessons.  Once learning activities are uploaded by a teacher they can be completed by pupils from home. Teachers can then provide feedback directly to pupils.

We would like to inform parents/carers that Google classroom will show the names of the other children in your child’s class when they login.

Maths Whizz

​

Maths Whizz is an online maths tutor. It is adaptive and changes to reflect the knowledge and needs of each individual user. It guides pupils through an individualised learning journey that stimulates the behaviour of a human tutor.

Bug Club

​

Bug Club is a literacy program designed to support the effective and engaging teaching of reading for primary students in Reception to Year 6.

Bug Club readers include popular children's characters from titles such as Wallace and Gromit, Angelina Ballerina, Shaun the Sheep, Doctor Who, Star Wars and Casper to keep pupils engaged.

Digital books will be assigned to pupils by their teacher and feature automatically marked quizzes linked to comprehension skills which assess pupils’ understanding of the content.

Purple Mash 

 

This is an online portal containing many activities for a full range of subjects. Each child has their own login and teachers can set tasks for the children. When children complete a task on Purple Mash they can submit it to their teacher who can comment on it.

ICT in Schools: Learning at Home – ‘ICT in Schools’ based at The Word in South Shields have collated a range of activities and resources that you will find useful for home learning. Resources are easy to find as they are divided into age groups.

Phonics Play- Phonics Play is a website that offers interactive phonics games and downloadable resources across the 'Letters and Sounds' phases.

White Rose Maths - This is the scheme of work that we use when teaching maths. White Rose Maths have created a bank of resources for parents to use from home. These can be accessed for free.

Joe Wicks’ Workouts – Access a variety of different types of workouts to stay active on Joe Wicks’ Youtube site: The Body Coach TV.

Cosmic Kids Yoga –  Cosmic Kids Yoga are interactive adventures which build strength, balance and confidence – and gets kids into yoga and mindfulness early! Each episode is its own story, so you can enjoy the Cosmic Kids series in any order.

Go Noodle for Families– A wide range of fun dances for children to learn and help them stay active.
