Safeguarding at Harper Bell
At Harper Bell, safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and the safety and wellbeing of our children is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a safe, caring and inclusive school where children feel valued, listened to and able to ask for help.
Our approach is child-centred. We work closely with pupils, families and external agencies so that concerns are noticed early, children receive the right help at the right time and families know who they can speak to when they need support.
Safeguarding is not a separate part of school life. It is reflected in our culture, attendance work, SEND provision, pastoral support, online safety, curriculum, staff training and the everyday relationships children build with trusted adults.

What we do
Notice: We pay close attention to changes in behaviour, attendance, presentation, relationships or wellbeing that may indicate a child needs help.
Listen: Children are listened to carefully, taken seriously and supported to share worries in a way that feels safe.
Act: Concerns are passed promptly to the safeguarding team, recorded securely and responded to appropriately.
Support: We work with children, parents, carers and external agencies to make sure the right help is in place.
Review: We monitor concerns and support over time so that actions lead to improved safety and wellbeing.
